Heh heh..Hey, i'm stephanie. I'm 13, but I've had a lifelong love for reptiles and snakes. Sadly my mom isn't a big fan of snakes and I'm trying to prove to her that i'm responsible enough for one. I did some homework and I heard that corn snakes are a great option for beginners because they are calm and come in many colors. If i get this snake, I'm hoping to keep it in my room. I'm here to learn :) If anyone has any tips, please send them my way!

See you all around :wavey:

Just read through the forums and ask questions. ;)

Nice typing for a 13 year old by the way.

YaY! Someone my age! lol
Welcome... I had a corn as a first snake and personally I found them to be too skittish and to move around too much.
I prefer ball pythons, even though some people disagree, they are just as cool as corns except they are calmer and get a little wider. If you truly do your research on them they are one of the best snakes out there IMO.

A BP (ball python) might be too intimidating to your mother. But, SR1234 did have a good point. Look into an adult that is past the more difficult hatchling and juvenile stages, perhaps a retired breeder. If you decide to go that way, ask and you'll get a lot of suggestions on where to look.
