I Yam What I Yam
Took a little unplanned walk today! Out taking a short motorcycle ride (on my little Honda Rebel) and came up on the Edward McCabe Nature Preserve. I've been in here before but knew they were doing more work on the trails so I stopped. I only had my cell phone for a camera. Not expecting to see any snakes but hoping to spot a box turtle cause I knew they were in there! Nice little hike but the horse flies were eating me alive! Glad to get out of there! But I'll be back again I'm sure ... with bug repellent. All these pics were taken today.

I had a big box turtle I kept when I was a kid. It ate the hell out of tomatoes and strawberries and it would follow me around the yard.
 
Arrgh, I know I shouldn't comment before coffee! Apologies, Ken. Great pics, Ken! You take great pics too, Karl, just not these, lol.
 
Thanks Gail! Actually, there's no contest! Karl is way better ... not that I'm trying to compete. I'm happy if I can get a few that aren't blurry! The same hike, the same day, Mr. Toad has a photo session. Again, with my phone/camera. I will get out again with my 'real' camera!

That's an amazing shot of the toad with a phone camera, Ken!

I certainly can identify with being happy if they are not blurry. That's about where I am. This is quite a bit better than than that!
