Need cross country moving advice!

Hey all,

I need to move my snake from San Francisco to New York and I'm trying to figure out the least stressful way (for him) to do this! I'm already in New York and he's still in San Francisco with a friend, since I didn't want to bring him out until I had an apartment. Now I have an apartment and I'm ready to bring him out to join me.

Since he can't be taken in an airplane cabin, I am open to shipping him, although I'd love to hear any experiences you guys have had with this and any tips on regulations as far as how he's to be "packaged".

Otherwise, he'll be driven cross country, since I plan to fly out and bring my car to New York sometime soon. Any tips on this? What's the least stressful way for him to travel? In his tank so he's comfortable? In a plastic travel terrarium where he'll be cramped but portable?

Please share your experiences - I miss my guy very much and can't wait to have him back in the safest way possible.

Thanks!

Most of the snakes in my collection have been shipped in and this would probably be the least stressful for him. Shipping boxes are dark and as long as you do it overnight, there really shouldn't be a problem. If you are not FedEx certified or if you don't know someone who is, you may want to look up shipyourreptiles.com
You can read over their site and maybe they can help you out!

I am not sure how long the car ride is going to be, but shipping will only subject the snake to travel, for a 24 hour period. JMO!

Good Luck,

Wayne
