I think I am OK for now since it is summer and the tank is pretty big (55gal and hides on both sides), What would be the best UTH and thermostat to look for? What are the best brands and where is the best place to buy thems?Right now the heat does fluxuate a bit with our one little UTH and I want to be able to regulate it. I know this has probably been answered before but I am a bit confused on what is good....

And in the winter it gt ets pretty cold, I know heat lamps are generally a no-no but I think that may be the best was to keep the tank warm. We only have a woodstove in the other room. How can I keep it warm when the room gets really cold?

My dad keeps on telling me her wants to get me snake supplies for my birthday and I figured I should take advantage of his generous offer and I want to know what to tell him to get.
