need help writing a corn snake legal document for apartment

Ok
Recently our building decided to get rid of dangerous animals (yay?) and live feeding of animals. That includes snakes and their food.
Not a problem right? I only feed Calluu frozen anyway but here's where I'm stumped.

I need to write a letter to the landlord (was talking to him and this is by request) explaining that my snake is not dangerous, that I take responsibility for it and that I only feed it frozen and why.

I can verbally tell anyone my reasons but I am completely stumped on how to write a legal letter stating those facts.

What I'm asking is, can someone help with starting it? I have no clue how to start this thing.

on a separate note, Calluu broke a foot long this week! :D

This is what I have so far

The tenants in suite 409 Manning ave, Fort McMurray resume full responsibility for the proper raising, care, and any damageor injury caused with owning of a female corn snake. We agree that only frozen prekilled mice shall be brought into the apartment in order to feed the snake for the below reasons.
• To prevent mites, worms or other parasites and diseases from spreading to the snake or to other areas and residents in the building.
• For humane reasons including the humane death of the feeder mice and to prevent injury or death to the snake and/or others.
• And to prevent a possible infestation of rodents in the building.
The snake will also be provided a proper enclosure and will be kept safely contained within the unit.

Perhaps write a bit about corn snakes and their docile nature, native range, and small size to ease any thought of "Eeeek a snake!" Also emphasize the fact that they're not venomous.

If the contract you're being asked to sign is supposed to be legally-enforceable, then ask for the legal definition of the term "dangerous" under the contract. You should then be able to address the specifics with regard to your Corn Snake.

Apartment managers and their weird requests! I think what you have sounds pretty official, and covers pretty much what he requested. I agree with Vicky about including that corn snakes tend to be naturally docile in captivity, and are not a venomous species. Maybe consider referring to an official document when stating that?

"According to ______, corn snakes are ____, ______, and _______; therefore, they cannot inflict serious harm to humans or most pets."

I would also ask the landlord if this is going to be just kept on file, and referred to in case something were to go awry.

I asked him about that and his major concern at the moment is what she eats. He use to raise snakes himself but always fed live and did not know about frozen food until we told him about it.

He told us honestly he just doesn't want an infestation and if we can safely say that we won't cause a mouse infestation then he'll be happy with the occasional inspection to prove we have frozen.

We did re write it a few times last night and submitted it this morning (we as in Lee and I, because I asked for his help) and the manager approved it.
