I fed my corn today (Saturday). He is still small and on pinks. I feed him every 5 days, and this thursday would be his next feed.

That being said, I leave for a trip on wednesday night, and dont get back till sunday.

Do I feed my corn on weds (4 days since last feed) night b4 I leave, or do I wait till sunday (8 days since last feed)?

An 8 day feeding gap will be fine as long as he's otherwise healthy and has been eating OK up to now.

I don't think I'd bother with a feeding on the Wednesday. At least that way, there's a reduced chance of him pooping in his water and not having fresh stuff for a few days.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. My new baby was starving on day 6, striking at anything that moved. So I am moving her up to every 4-5 days and seeing how she does.

You need to bear in mind that striking doesn't necessarily indicate a need for food, just as hunting behaviour doesn't necessarily mean that you ought to feed more often. A healthy hatchling will be fine with food every 5-6 days.

I agree with Bitsy and would add that striking, especially in a hatchling, may be completely defensive.... at least 1/4 of my babies (especially the wee sunkissed) are automatic strikers when anyone is near, above or below.. hehe

enjoy your trip and don't worry!

I agree with Bitsy and Jeff.
I'll third that. Or fourth it, whatever.
In addition, regarding the OP,....the temperatures ranging from one end of your viv to the other should allow the snake to finds it's own desired temperature. It is no original notion of my own, but most know that the snake has to digest its meal before it begins to rot/decay, at which time, it will regurgitate. Warmth facilitates digestion, lack of warmth retards digestion.
If I leave mine on an empty stomach, I may leave them a little cooler (slow metabolic state); if on full stomach, they need a zone to get adequately warm (for digestion), and a zone to get away from the warmth if they so desire. If you really notice what's going on with your snakes, you can watch them take care of themselves, very loosely speaking.
Sometimes I think mine come to the ends of their vivs and stare at me when they are hungry. LOL.
