Need some information about breeding

Hi all,

Tonight I borrowed a male motley to mate with my amel. I'm not planning to become breeder though, just want to go through mating--> egg--> hatchling experience.... even though selling a corn snake is not a problem here....

To make story short, here they are in action immediately after meeting each other....

I know that I'm rushing into this without doing the learning and planning first (I feel stupid).... forgive me for being overly excited about keeping snake....

My questions:

1) They sleeping in different viv now... should I put them together again?

2) Should I keep them together for a period of time? How long?

3) Should I feed the female as normal?

Thanks

You could put them together again let them mate and then seperate them. I have a question for you the male is a motley what?

me being very new to this game and not trying to sound clever then i am... but having done loads of research as i will be breeding corns in the future... to try and answer your questions...

1. put them in together a few times... i heard to keep them apart for 2 days then introduce them together again.
2. not to sure about the amount of time, but i would think a few hours at a time.
3. and yes, keep feeding as normal as she will need to be healthy during this period, and she'l loose weight once the eggs have come.

one main point is to ensure you HAVE homes for the hatchlings... not a good start if they arnt going to a good home. especially when iv heard there can be from 10 to 30 hatchlings from one clutch

hope this helps.

I don't know what motley is that male.... currently that is the only male that I can get...:shrugs:

I will put them together again tomorrow....

thanks

You really should wait about three days, especially since he is small. Let him build up to it.
I think the question about what kind of motley, comes from the looks of the snake as it doesn't look like a full corn.

Yeah it take me three day...

but if you could post some more pictures of that male... 'cause he has some interesting color to him.

Thanks
