So, here's my situation. I have an '05 male who has never been bred that I've had since '06. He's probed male. About half the time I can see hemipene evidence on his shed skin. I've also see them when he goes to the bathroom. Every year since I've had him he has stopped eating every spring/summer for four months or so. He searches all over his cage the every night of those months. So I'm assuming for all intents and purposes that he is a male.
The female is from proven from Mohr snakes, so no question there.
They have both shed since brumating. I've only put them together once. I put them together in a tub and the female knew exactly what to do. The male however, twitched and was terrified of the female. She was climbing under him and flagging her tail. How long should I leave them together next time? Could there be any reason he's so nervous? I have no idea where to go from here
