Nessie monster's first hopper

Nessie's first hopper... she sniffed at it a lot more than usual, I only watched until about the point of this first pic and then covered her up. It went down the hatch no problem, yay. She's now comfortably resting/digesting in her warm side hide :)

yay! See! No need to have worried so much :)
As far as I know from experience, they always sniff their first hoppers a bit more, but then they get SUPER excited to eat everytime after!

I know you were worried before but I knew it would all be fine!
You are a wonderful snake keeper, you care so much about your scalebabies!!
She is beautiful and I am glad you can relax a little bit now!

Holy cow, that is huge! So, glad it went well....but this is scaring me off. I think Ala will be fine on fuzzies a while longer. ;)

AliCat, I can't imagine Ness getting super excited about anything that has to do with being out of her viv even getting fed, lol, she would be happy if she never had to see me again ;) I imagine she'll be having a heck of a growth spurt now.

Thanks starsevol, that's very kind of you to say. And not to play favorites, but I do find her to be our most beautiful corn.

LoL, gsdbecca, they are huge in comparison! If I can do it, you can too. Just don't watch the whole thing like I did ;) I weighed each hopper we had and gave her one that weighed 9grams, which is on the lower end of the scale according to the Munson Plan for hoppers and Nessie's weight.

Haha, I guess we'll see! I feed everyone in their cages, and after they hit hoppers they come straight outta their hides when I open the doors/racks.

I'll be curious to see, 'cuz let's just say I couldn't have given her a more fitting name considering she's so elusive and you have to wonder "did I really just see her???". I keep our corns in our living room and every night you can see Nessie's little face tucked away just waiting for us to shut off the lights and leave so she can come out. She is SO timid and shy compared to our other three. I swear if she had a middle finger she'd show it to me every chance she got, lol... of course it'd just be the middle finger that I'd see coming out from behind one of her many hiding spots. Ciqala, our other snow, is the complete opposite. Last night I was changing her water and as I was lifting it up, she *flew* over onto it. She's a character that one, makes me laugh all the time.

AliCat you were 100% right about her probably being super excited to eat now that she's on hoppers! Tonight was her third one, she was in her paper towel tube as usual and flew out of it and did a quick bite/bonk on the hopper then seemed more keen on my hand outside of her feeding bin. Then no sniffing, right to eating lol. No more Miss Dainty sipping her tea with her pinkie up in the air, lol, she's eating like a caveman now :)
