New 1.1 Normals :)

So my better half decided to let me get a couple of new snakes, since I had to sell off my collection this summer to get ready for the new baby...I had been thinking hard, and trying to decide if I wanted a BP, a Rosy, or a Corn...and now I've managed to pick up a pair of normal corns (both with misc. hets) from a local breeder.

Basically he had an ad up for $15 normal baby corns, and I decided take a shot in the dark and offer him a trade....for DVDS! Haha....he totally went for it and gave me a male/female pair for "Spy Games". Lol...craziest snake acquisition I have ever experienced :)

The catch is that I had the pick of his 4 "rough starters". They have all taken 2 F/T pinks now, but they haven't had as many meals as the others (could have to do with the fact that he ONLY feeds F/T and hadn't tried live on them).

Their setups aren't ideal right now, because this was slightly spur of the moment....they are in 6qt Rubbermaid's with the last bit of shredded aspen I could find, along with some of the moss stuff that the guy sent with them. I had a HUGE cave hide that I tapped ontop with a hammer to make some smaller hides (Recycler of the Day Award? :) ) And a small water dish for each of them.

Male (He has some cool partial Zigzags...the only way I can tell them apart lol) :

Female (Perfectly Normal :) ) :

Dumb question, but what does the "1.1" mean? I've seen that notation around, but am still too n00b to know. Hints, please?

the number before the decimal is how many males....the number after is how many females....and if there is a 3rd number it means unknown...

1.1 is one male, one female
1.1.1 is one male one female one unknown.

Awesome, congrats!

It's weird, lots of corn snake people are coming out of the wood work. I found a local hobby breeder in my area, and someone with normals het bloodred in the Indy area for $12.

Anyways, congrats!

They aren't normal het bloodred :) That's the person I contacted and got these 2 from...he told me they were Normals with unknown hets but some of them look to be het for Bloodred. He really doesn't know what he's talking about with Corn Morphs because he breeds Az. Mountain Kings....
But they are both healthy snakes, and he was a nice guy to deal with.
