New Corn Feeding Question

Hello, friends. I'm brand new here and I had a question.

My friend ,Brian, and my girlfriend went into kahootz together and got me an Anery Stripe Corn for Christmas.

She's just a little baby corn, and I'm wondering how long she will eat pinkies. As of now, she's my only corn, and I do plan to start collecting more of them, but I don't know if a bag of 100 f/t pinkies would be, say, efficient.

So, simple version: How fast will my little Corn grow, and how long will she be eating pinkies at one a week? Or should I feed more often than once a week?

I am sure you guys will have just the answer I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance,

One a week would be fine but it's more usual to feed every 5 days or so when they're on pinkies.

As a general guideline, they're ready to move up to the next size of food (fuzzies) when one or two pinkies don't leave a lump in their belly 24-48 hours after eating. As the food gets bigger, the gaps between feeding should get longer to allow for proper digestion. By the time they're eating adult mice, you needn't worry about the food leaving a visible lump any more. You'll probably feed those once every 10-14 days (or even longer for some Corns).

It's not really possible to say when this will be, as Corns are very individual and can grow at very different rates.

If you want to spend time weighing snake and food to the gramme, then "The Munson Plan" is a reasonable feeding guide for the beginner. It isn't set in stone though, so if you find your youngster getting chubby or not putting on weight, then you can feed more or less as you need to:

If you are planning on getting more corns, then a 100 pinkie bag isn't a bad idea. I still have some pinkies left over and they have come in handy a few times- like when I ran out of bigger mice.
For one snake, though, I'd guess 50 pinks. 100 is going to last you 16 months of feeding every 5 days. So, 50 will last you 8 months which is a long time, but you can move up to double pinks as your snake gets bigger.
You could be on pinkies for a few months or 6 months or longer, depending on your snake. I think my babies were on pinks for about 3 months.

Get 100. You can always feed more than one item at a time. That is a good idea especially if you buy another corn or two of the same size as the one you have.

Actually, if you gave us a picture of it eating a pinky, we could help more. A picture of offering the pink, the pink swallowed half way, and then the lump in the belly.
