New corn snake does nothing but hide.

I just got my corn snake last weekend. She got in her 20 L last Sunday. She has already eaten well and seems comfortable enough. I'm just confused. She never seems to leave her hide. Ever. Not even at night. She'll lay on the warm side if I put her there, but won't go there herself. Last time I put her in the tank, I lowered her over her water dish and she started drinking from it still mostly in my hands. She drank a LOT. For a full minute or so. It just seems weird.

Mine does that, too. Everything you described sounds just like my corn. some corns are just lazier than others.

Nope, not weird.

"Even at night"... well, unless you are staring at her tank for 24 hours straight, that is probably not the case! Which is a good thing. These little bastards are sneaky and come out when you're not looking ;)

Your snake is still settling in, and could take some time to getting comfortable. Every snake is different with this respect; some take longer than others to come around.

If you are really worried, check your temperatures, make sure there's several hides in there, and check your thermostat (not just thermometers or hygrometer). If you don't have a thermostat or don't know what it is, you need to get one ASAP.

Best of luck!

Well my girl is a burrower for sure, and I'm up several times a night. I'm not a good sleeper... so I doubt she's out for very long, if at all. But she's not showing any signs at all of distress. Very easy to handle. Very inquisitive. Ate Tuesday (a "snack" fuzzy to make sure she was ready for a meal, then a full mouse Thursday night. Just seemed weird that an animal in a new environment wouldn't want to explore more.

Guy on campus: You know that thing can't love you. It has no frontal lobe!
Me: Your dog eats poop and licks your face.
