Hi!!! My name is Connie and I got my first corn snake today . He is a baby (born in July) Okeetee....He is just beautiful. I brought him home and put him in his new enclosure (a 20 gallon aquarium) offered him a pinkie mouse and I was surprised how fast he struck that little thing. I think he really enjoyed his meal. :) I live in Illinois about 75 miles south of Chicago. My husband and I are owned by 2 dogs, 4 cats 1 baby rosy boa and now 1 corn snake. :) We have a 2 year old grand daughter and another one on the way! I work for some people who raise exotic cats...savannahs, bengals and egyptian maus. I think i have the greatest job in the world. I am looking forward to reading the posts on this site and learnig more about the corn snakes. I will post a picture of the little guy sometime in the next few days. Which are bigger in the corn snakes...males or females? I wish my rosy boa would eat as readily as this little corn did. I can't wait to take him out and handle him...I will be a good snake mom and wait a couple of days since he ate a pinky tonight. How often does he need to eat? Thanks everyone....connie, balboa the rosy boa and???? (haven't thought of a name yet) :)

Welcome to the forum, Connie. This is the best place to find all the information you will need to take care of and enjoy your new baby. The search function puts the answers to most questions right at your fingertips-so to speak. Of course, if you can't find the answers you need someone is always willing to help out. Remember to post pics, we love to see new kids.
As for how often should your new one eat, most feed little ones every five days. Enjoy!
