Hello all, I just got a cornsnake two weeks ago.and I am sooo happy. It took alot of pleading, begging, bothering, and bribing to get him but it all worked out in the end.;) So I finally got the snake that I wanted.I did alot of research on the web got all sorts of books talked to the pet store alot before I bought him
and made sure I was 100% ready to take on the commitment of a long term pet.
I do however have one question about him.Its about him pooping. He dosent seem to go to often.I have been feeding him one pinky every six days it takes about five for him to go.I guess thats about right but it freaks me out because I dont want to keep feeding him if hes not going that often.what do you think?
Well I am glad to have somewhere to go to ask questions and talk to other snake owners and see what you all think.
oh,his name is jake not to original but it seems to fit. Another question I have is can you estimate how old he is somehow?the store said he was about six months then the guy laughed at me and said do you want to give it a birthday?pick a date and he pointed at the calender.what an ass.well thanks for letting me ramble on

Congratulations on the new snake. :D Five days is rather long for the pooping, but as long as he is pooping after each feeding, don't worry too much. What temps do you have in his enclosure? It can take snakes longer to digest if it's not quite warm enough. (If it's not warm enough at all, they'll regurgitate.) Generally, you should have a warm side at around 85° F, and a cool side that's about 75°F.

As for age, I would hazard a guess that your corn hatched sometime between July and September. That's when most of them hatch.

Hey thanks for the replies.Kate,I have one side that is exactly 85
and the other side ranges from 73 to 80.hope to talk to you soon
thanks again
