Wanted to say hi to you all! I am ultra new to cornsnakedom, and will most likely annoy you all with millions of weird questions. My corn is a girl, I think...I am pretty certain she is a Hypo, and we named her Paprikás. She was dumped off at our PetCo in a 10 Gallon tank , so me being the big softy, who only went in for crickets, ends up adopting a new snake. She is in a 30 gallon for now with an under tank heater and a basking lamp, a hidey hut on both the warm and cold ends of the tank, and I just turned a dog food bowl into a third hidey/ pool for her. She does hide much of the time...she is under her pool on the old end of the tank as I type.
Oh and she is gorgeous and about 3 and 1/2 feet long.
Sorry about the ramble...plus I posted this on another cornsnake site, if it looks familiar to some lol!

Update:
I have been reading thru a lot of the posts here..and have shut off my basking lamp as it seems that the general concensus is that would be why she has been hiding on the cold end for the passed few days. I increased the depth of substrate over the UTH, and checked the temperature of that area with my digital kitchen thermometer ...it reads at around 78°-79° F on the surface and at around 86° at about 1/4 deep. I am off to the pet store to look at digital tank thermometers as I don't trust the one in have in the tank and can't keep using my meat probe lol...and also going to see about thermostats as well...
hoping to get a lot of good advice from you all, as I want to give her the best life possible.

Welcome to the forum! If you are using an under tank heater, you really don't need the lamp as well. Thanks for rescuing her.

Feel free to ask any questions you can think of! There is also a search feature near the top right of the site if you want to see if you can find any answers to your questions.

Also, we love pictures!

Yeah, under tank heaters are much better than heat lamps for corn snakes. I wish they wouldn't sell those "snake kit" vivariums with the picture of the corn snake and big heat lamps on the package, which makes so many people think they need those things. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the warm welcome!I've been enjoying looking through the posts on the site...especially all the pictures :)
