I am relatively new to the hobby and would like to lurk here and just learn alot more.. i have owned reptiles but never for long, because of work or a move but im settled now and have begun keeping corns i have two males of aproximately the same size is it ok to keep them in a 40 long i have multiple hides and im using reptibark as substrate, Any advice is much appreciated>

Hello and welcome to the forum and the addiction! I think that the majority of people agree that keeping more than 1 snake per viv is not a good idea. If one gets sick you won't know which one is and the other has a high chance of also getting sick. It can also add to stress for them ( always having to fight for the warm spot) then there is the risk that one snake will try to eat the other. Thats just a few reasons im sure many others will chime in with other and better reasons too.....

Thanks For the info been told it's ok and that it's not I think I'll err on the side of caution

Welcome.... This is the best place to learn. There are hobbyists and breeders here, so you can find any information you need. Good luck with the snakes.

We have been on her for only a few months and already have three snakes. We have two corns, named Ari and Buddy and a new baby Ball Python whom we named Monica.

Love this place as everyone is so helpful and because of all the great info, my snakes have the best possible vivs they could have.

Thanks everyone for all the help!!

At least make sure you have two of the same sex as males are able to breed sooner then females. Read posts, do searches, if you have a question start a thread and ask.

I kept two snakes in a tank for twenty minutes before doing some reading and decided that wasn't how I wanted to take care of reptiles. Within the first year one of the snakes got a kink and died; the other one from the community tank is my chronic regurger (she throws up her fuzzies) after two years she has only been able to eat pinky mice. Do what you think is right for your pets, this may not happen to you.

If you still want to keep them together, consider making the middle of the tank the warm zone and the two sides as cool sides. That way they each can have their own zones and water dishes/hides.

hello

welcome to the forum! i would also advise against it...more for the stress factor and the sickness factor than anything else.

You can do a search on this forum and see MANY heated discussions on why you shouldn't put two corns in the same viv (search for cohabbing).

For a first-time corn snake owner, I would strongly advise against it. It sounds like you already have. It just makes things much more complicated then they need to be.

Welcome to the forum!
This is a great place to learn. And to feed the addiction!
