Hi, all.

Brand new guy to the forum. Love the site, and looking forward to spending LOTS of time around here.

I have three corns at present. A 2-year old Miami phase, a new Extreme Okeetee (from Don Soderberg), and this little one. Picked it up at a local pet store...mainly because I've never seen coloring quite like her. I've seen plenty of Amels, but the orange and (eventual) white on her is just stunning.

What do ya'll think? Creamsicle, Reverse Okeetee, something else?

I welcome any/all opinions. Wish my photo skills were not so horrible. Pictures do her no justice at all.

Your right about her coloring not looking like the standard amel, so i think you might have some creamsicle influence in there as you suspected. Kinda sucks about buying them from pet stores, ya just don't know...

WOW!

Very NICE Amel....could be a Reverse Okeetee....thats my guess. It has very bright coloring and should grow up to be a VERY Beautiful snake!

Congrats!

Todd

Wow that's one stunning snake!
If i was you and if i would breed with it i would call all the offspring hybrids, just to be sure. I think it's better that some pure corns are labeled hybrid than some hybrids labeled as pure corns.

But, just wow, what a color!

You know Creamsicle is a hybrid, right? No reason to say that snake is such, unless you know. (But also, there is no way of knowing, either). Chances are more likely that is a pure (as pure as any of them) cornsnake. I would call it a very bright amel. In my opinion, the white borders aren't wide enough to call it a reverse Okeetee. But she is still brilliant, and I would even call her fluorescent!

Oops, i thought you said that you bought it as a possible creamsicle (hybrid)
My bad.
Still a brilliant amel! I'm jealous.

Heya, guys and gals.

Thanks much for the kind words, and the insight on what my newest baby might be.

It was in a group of six that the pet store got, all at the same time. As soon as I saw her, I had two thoughts:

1. She's the most stunning Amel I've ever seen (hatchling, I mean).

2. Get her out of that cohabitation status ASAP. Now she's in a 10-gallon tank, all to herself, and will be for about a year. She's due for a 20-gallon long, as are my other two.

I will take a couple more pictures of her tonight, as well as some of Kona (my Miami, and the reason for my handle on here) and Ghimbi, my baby boy Extreme Okeetee.

I love 'em all...but still have an empty tank to fill. Anybody got a budget-wise Bloodred?!?!?!?!? :) :)

She is a Great Looking snake...I think she may turn-out looking like my 3 year old boy Comet. (see pic)

You should be able to find some nice Bloodreds here on the fourm or try Don S.

Good Luck:cool:

Todd,

You might be right. Coloring and such appear to be very similar to Comet...who is gorgeous, by the way.

Took a few more of her tonight. As I write this, she's trolling around the top of the tank lid, looking for a way to get out and about! :) Again! :)
