New Owner Of 2 Snakes (one Accidental)

Hey all.

I got a creamsicle corn snake in July, a 4 mth old male who had been neutered, due to suspected prolapse.

I went back to the dealer last weekend for his food, and came home with another creamsicle, which looks about 6mths. hasn't been sexed but i dont forsee any problems with breeding since Milton has been neutred.

Stumbled across this site while agonising over what could be wrong with Milton, now off to search threads to find an answer, but to be honest, i dont think he is gonna pull through. :( :shrugs:

Looking forward to "meeting" everyone, and sharing knowledge on these lovely beasties!

:crazy02:

I noticed you were from Scotland. Who did you get the snakes from?

And a 4 month old snake being neutered... Iv never heard of such a thing!?
Iv never even heard of snakes being neutered in the first place!

Is it possible for a prolapse to occur at such a young age,I would assume that a prolapse wouldnt occur to a 4month critter..but rather a more "mature" snake :shrugs:

Im only asking because i have heard of this happening with adults during copulation or egg laying, but a 4 month old??

this is the information i was given. a suspected prolapse. he was operated on, and up until a week ago, was doing fine. i think we have just lost him in the past half hour. he was lifeless yesterday and today, off his food. went to check on him today, he was lying where i left him last night. no movement whatsoever. had him with me all day, still no movement. bf just came home from work, thinks he stopped breathing now. i think so too. poor little bugger. was on this forum looking for advice, but it is too late for milton.

:(

That is so sad! Sounds like all parties involved did everything possible for the little guy. I am sure you will have a much more positive experience with the new creamsicle.

Welcome
