Hey,
I have been reading this forum for awhile as I have been deciding on wether or not I wanted to buy a corn. There is going to be a reptile show here in Ohio this coming weekend...and after reading all the posts and doing all the research and everything, i have decided to get one if I find one that I like at the show. :) So I figured I will introduce myself now...for I will probably come on next week with many questions..as most new pet owners do. This will be my first snake, but I have had many reptiles before...crested geckos, Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragon, an iguana, and such...it seems I have had some sort of reptile since I was 5 (22 now). Now the only reptile I have is an adult, male albino Leopard Gecko who I've had for 6 years now, my bearded dragon passed away last week at the age of 12  ..so now I have an empty 36x12x12 cage..and thinking of filling it with a corn. Well enough with the long post about me, you will probably here from me in the future, bye for now :wavey:

Welcome Spud

Of course you're only getting one cornsnake this weekend...but the next time there's an expo, you'll be going back to buy yout 2nd...and 3rd....and 4th!!!

I'm up to 7 now with no signs of slowing! Welcome to the forum and ask as many questions as you need to. Cheers and welcome,
Adele

I would if I had money..

Thanks princess. Doubt I will get too many snakes tthough..one will probably be my limit. With college draining my funds, doubt I could care for more than one snake on my finances. But I agree...I find that with most reptiles they can be addictive, especialy when there are so many options out there and colors. I will have to restrain myself :)

Welcome, welcome. I'm kinda new around this forum myself and I've found some great people who are willing to help out.

It is true that snakes are addicting, but with time and proper planning you can gradually get all you want. We have 17 (corns, kings, rats and a hoggie). If you're truly going to stick with one for awhile, make sure you look around at the show and online to get what appeals to you the most.

Good luck!

Welcome Spud. :wavey: Are you going to be attending the Cleveland or Columbus show?

Welcome to the forums! What dionth said earlier is so true, look at each morph thoroughly as hatchlings and adults to see how their colors develop because if you're truly going to stick with only 1 (that's what they all say LOL) you'll want to get the one you like best. Otherwise, you WILL be back for more! Look forward to seeing your new baby and everyone here will help you the best we can. :wavey:

Welcome to our happy "home". I am sure you will enjoy your new pet.

Ohhhh, Little does he know about the "lure" of the corn. :grin01:

thanks everyone

I will be attending the Columbus show...I go to Ohio State, so it's not that far. So it seems everyone believes I will get more than one :) I probably will, but at least for 6 months, I can not..so this will be the only one until then....nothing I can do about it :shrugs: Thank you all for the warm welcome :)

Welcome Spud, and if I may be so bold as to quote one of our distinguished members(draybar) "resistance is futile" I came home with 3 from the last show I went to. Good Luck

I got the snake!

so I went to the show this saturday, I bought myself a corn snake. It is a Motley with beautiful red and orange coloring. I will upload a pic of him/her when I can. I set up the terranium and just let him loose in it. He love his little wooden "hut" hiding place, curls up in it and peeks out of the entrance to look around ...kind of looks like a turtle when he does so :) Anyway, I am very pleased with my purchase, he is very small but very calm. After a few days I will start handling him/her more, then I can probably get a good pic then. And you guys are right, definetly want more corns already, but I will hold off for at least six months like I said :)

Happy, happy herp!

I am so excited for you! It's always awesome to bring home a new baby. Keep us informed how he/she (what's the name??) is doing and definitely get pics when you can.
