New Snake, First Feed, Interesting...Mucus?

Hello all,

So, this is not my first snake but it is the first time I have seen this. I fed the guy (roughly a year and a half old) last night one appropriate sized f/t. He wolfed it down just fine and all was well. Placed him back in the viv, he takes a few drinks and crawls in his hide.

No biggie right?

Well a few hours later as we are heading to bed I check in on him and found a spot of what I can only describe as nickle sized mucus like substance (very very light yellow in color) in his hide with him. It wasnt there before feeding and there was nothing else out of the ordinary (temps are fine, no regurged mouse, etc).

What the heck could it be? Sorry no pics, I didnt think to take a pic.

When a snake poops in a clear container, like a feeding container, if they have not eaten recently, or it's the second poop of a digestive cycle, it can be clear egg white-like and yellow liquid.

Ive never experienced that with any of my others but it best describes it. Unless something else developes I will be unconcerned then.

Thanks Nanci!

What I meant is, the container doesn't have anything to do with it- it just makes the elimination easier to see.
