Hi, I'm Brandon. I purchased my first corn snake about a week ago. Unfortunately, the little guy got out already. I have been in touch with the breeder to ask for some tips on how to find him. She also sent me to this website which I think is great! I have been reading some posts about missing snakes. If anyone has any suggestions for me until I get the hang of this forum, please let me know. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your escape, but there are all kinds of measures you can take to find him again. Look in places that tend to stay warm, and up against the wall. You can also put small lines of flour in the doorways to see what room he's most likely to be in (you'll notice a slither pattern if he changes rooms). Or, you could even get a pinky and put it in a tank sideways along the wall with a little water bowl just to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated.

Thanks for your help! I will try anything. I hope he comes back. Do you think he would even bother going in our basement? It's cold down there so I really didn't look much in that direction. Should I though?

If you have a hot water heater or a furnace down there, I'd check. That's where one of my corns wound up when I lived in Denver. And remember: check in the smallest spaces you can find. You'd be surprised what they can squeeze into!
