New snake

Hi all. After being patient I have brought my new snake home.

I have had his new viv set up for a week and checked and recorded the temps which are all fine.

I brought him home in the small plastic box he was living in in the pet store. The guy in the pet store advised me to leave him in there.

I don't want to put a heat mat directly under this plastic box

When would be the right time to introduce him to his new viv. Would it be too big for him?

Well seconds after posting this I have noticed he has climbed out of his small box and is making his way into the new viv.

I placed the smaller tank into the larger viv and locked it shut but there is a snake sized gap in which he can fit through which he is doing now.

I'm shocked he's come out from being buried under his aspen as I've only had him home an hour.

I have never seen such a nosey snake in my life! He's taking a right old trip around the new viv. So active to say he's been transported an hour ago!

I only have 2 snakes, but both of them were very active after being put in the viv. Checking things out. Will probably slow down soon, if hasn't already.

Usually corn snakes will spend the first couple of hours exploring their new environment, looking for an escape route.

Followed quickly by "best possible place for me to hide* :)

You should, when you can, post photos of your new little one - out of curiosity, what color is he/she?

He's always out. Been well over 24 hours and he stays on the left hand side near his rock :) he's a motley ghost ... I think!

Looks like a motley too me! The lighting is kinda hard for me to tell if that's a ghost or an aneythristic...regardless he's really cute!!!!

I put my little snow in a 4ft viv when I first set it up and he escaped within 6 hours and climbed in my bin. Luckily I heard him in there. I still don't have a clue how haha but he's not in a the faunarium in the viv. You'll know if he's stressed by his/her eating.

Update. This little guy never hides. He's always out and eats like an absolute trooper :) better pic down below.

I've typically named him ghost hahah.
