New snakes tail.......

I just got a new corn from a person I know, only bout 10 months old, female. When I Got her out and examined her I noticed that the very tip of her tail had unshed skin still on....It must have been a very layers, if thats how you would say it, old cause it didnt want to come off and I think it had cut circulation off. Well I gave her a humid box, thats didnt do much so I had my partner hold her extended while I gave her a a warm wash cloth. After about 5 minutes all she wanted to do was curl up on the cloth.......Nothing was working so I put her back in her cage. Well this morning I got her out and let her sit on my lap while I played some silent hill. When I went to put her in her cage I noticed a little drop of blood on my pant knee, and what looked like a piece of rice. Well after looking at it and at her I can say that her very tip of her tail fell off. She didnt act any different and wasnt bleeding just that one drop I seen. But My question's would be; As long as I watch and make sure she doesnt get an infection will she be alright? is it going to cause any long term affect's? and since it was the tip will it grow back? I mean she doesnt really look any different.

I'd watch it to make sure it heals OK, and also be watchful on future sheds, but the snake will be OK. It is more common than you would think... If a snake does not have enough humidity they will have a less than perfect shed and it is usually the tail tip that is affected. One advantage of keeping snakes in tubs is the humidity is a little better, I always try to mist snakes kept in a glass tank and/ or provide a humid hiding spot during the shed cycle. But with stuck sheds, the worst thing you can do is try to help by "peeling" your snake, instead it is better to let the snake crawl through a damp washcloth... If the tip of the tail was already dead from lack of circulation, all the dampness in the world won't fix that.

I see Jen is also looking at your post, she'll probably answer before I'm done typing this.
You're right, make sure it doesn't get infected. I've seen several posts about a snake loosing the tip of its tail. You can just call it "Stumpy" I guess.

Lol. thanks you both. I dont really know its just like this person bought it and then didnt care about it. eah Its in a lot better hands now. Again thank you....and as soon as I get my camera back I am getting pic's of my little collection up.
