New Snow Corn!

Hey guys! It's been less than a month since I got my first corn snake, but I have now adopted a new adult snow corn. He's 3.5 years old and about 4.5 feet long. Here are some pics that I took when I got home, prior to letting him settle in. He's in the middle of a shed right now as his eyes are 'blue'. I haven't decided on a name yet so all suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

hrm... I had some general questions that I was going to post in another thread but I may as well post them here:

1. Is the amount of time for letting an adult settle in different from that for a hatchling? If so, how long should I wait before handling?
2. How long does the blue state usually last before the eyes clear up?
3. Is handling ok when he's in this blue state?

I think that's all for now. Thanks again!

I would still give it a few days to settle in before you handle it much.

As for the eyes clearing up it can take anywhere 3-6 days depending on the snake.

When it comes to handling in blue I do occasionally but it depends on my snake Cronus my hypo male is mellow as hell even when his eyes are completly opaque and he can barely see but I think thats cause I rescued him so he associates my smell with getting treated well and fed well and having a nice home. My other snakes I don't handle much when they are in blue because it noticeably stresses them (erratic skittish movement and all)

Thanks for the reply Zach. I think I'll wait for him to shed before I start to handle him, or at least until his eyes clear up so I can soak him in some warm water.

As I was looking over him last night, I noticed that his spine is quite visible when he constricts. You can even see it in the last picture posted. His body however is fairly round and not triangular shaped. Does this mean he is underweight?

I don't think you are seeing his spine... from the pictures I see good muscle tone, not an underweight snake IMO.
