Umm, the best success I had with my parents with other kinds of pets (it never worked with reptiles though) was to demonstrate that I did all the work & took excellent care of my pets & paid for the things they needed out of my own money. I expanded from one fish tank to many over a period of a couple of years because they could see I was being responsible for my fish projects.
That's a tough one, it all depends on the parents (and you). My mom always hated our animals but still let us have them. I don't know if it was because we were responsible or because she was a good mom. Guess I owe her.
Hi there and welcome you'll have to post a pic or two. As for the parents, my Mom usually gave in to what I wanted eventually. I had to wait like 6 yrs to get a Chihuahua but it finally happened, then there was the time we died my hair with purple stripes lol it was awesome! Like someone said, prove to your parents that you are responsible save up money to purchase the critter yourself and keep reminding them that reptiles are 10 times easier to care for than dogs or cats, plus they don't require training or shed and pee on the carpet lol Or wait till you move out like I did then you can buy as many as you want
The way I got more Corns was, I showed the mother person that i knew how to take care of my first one and then the rest just came easier. [ALl mine recently died... when I go back home i'm buy a pair at the next reptile show..
Welcome the the Forum! Im sorry about your rat snake, and your leopard gecko. But now you have a corn! As for the 'parents' problem, Im still trying to get my second corn, haha. I hope you find this website very helpful, and if you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask.
