Hello all, My name is Jason. In the past I have owned everything from Iguanas to Tegu's. When my children were born I got out of the reptile world and focused more on my kids and breeding my labrador retrievers. Until...... last week when my daughter introduced me to a pet she wanted. A baby Okeetee female. I held it for a little while and was captivated. The most gentle reptile I have ever held was a snake. I broke all of my 20 gal terrariums out of storage and bought the snake along with Kathy Love's book. I then began to research everything I could possibly find on the internet (not a whole lot of snakes in Portland Oregon) Well then you know what happened next. Candi baby female Carmel. Hope to get pics on here of them soon. If anyone has any suggestions of males to breed them with I would be very apreciative. I'm really into stripes and bright colors. This is a great hobby and I can't wait to learn from all of you.

Welcome to the forum! This really is a great hobby and you picked the perfect place to come and learn about this wonderful snakes. Sounds like you are on the right track with Kathy Love's book and this forum. Have fun :)
 
Welcome to the addiction! Corns are wonderful pets and a great hobby. I just started this year and now have over 30 of them and will be doing quite a bit of breeding in a few years! Enjoy!!
 
Welcome Jason, there's a few of us in Oregon. I'm on the southern end of the state though. I think you said you got an Okeetee and a Caramel, is that correct? Good males to consider for your Caramel girl would be another Caramel, a Butter (Caramel combined with Amel), or Amber (Caramel & hypo) but it mainly depends what your price limit is & what you like the looks of. Of course it wouldn't hurt to get a male Okee too for your other girl. Kind of hard to recommend a good male for both since they are quite different, Okeetee is used to describe a certain look of a normal snake or refers to a snake from specific location depending who you ask.
 
Welcome to the forum! You definately came to the right place. I am new to snakes as well, just got my first (anerythristic A) a couple weeks ago. Its hard to not get addicted... must only keep one snake! ;)
