I'm not sure about prices in USA but here is a list of basic requirements:

* Vivarium, large enough for your snake
* Correct Bedding for snake
* Heating device (undertank heaters or heating cables work best)
* Temperature control device
* Thermometer
* At least two hides
* Water dish
* A good stock of the correct size prey for the snake if possible.

and LASTLY,

The snake.

I paid:

£39 for my snake (Normal Corn)
£35 for the viv
£3 for substrate bag
£4 for 10 pinky mice (Amazingly cheap to feed then!)
£12 for the heat matt
£8 for the stuff used to make a rheostat/about £30 for a 'real' rheostat/thermostat
£5 for the 'tikki hut' hide
£1.50 for the cork wood hide
The leaves that my girlfriend made the vine at the back were free (Got them from my mum, excess stock from her old florist shop..they're silk leaves wired together - each one painstakingly done seperately!).
The waterbowl was about £6

I looked in every petstore, pet smart petco, and pet supermarket and i can't find any around 20 by 20 by 20 in the stores

Well a 20 gallon long which is the smallest recommended for an adult is 30x12x12 and a 10 gallon is 20x10x12 you're not going to find a square tank in the pet stores, besides the tank doesn't need to be really tall because when they do climb they don't need to climb very high, what's important is the floor space.

Corny my tank is pretty long but I filled with a lot of hides (because is 30 gal for a little hatchling) but there's not a lot of floor space now, I think it won't need it but when he gets older and bigger I will have to remove hides to make more floor space?

Yes floor space is very important, when they're little they need all the cover. But when they're older they don't feel the need to hide as much and will need more room for actually stretching out.

oh that's great for telling me because I don't know if you saw the things I bought in petsmart but it covers all my viv haha it looks pretty cool actually, I just need to buy the snake but I have to wait till Januray

Yeah I saw the stuff you bought, but of course you also have to remember that your snake will eventually grow out of those things.

i got my baby corn two weeks ago and spent

£35 snake
£40 foot aquare starter tank
£4.20 beech chip bedding
£4 water bowl
£4.50 hide
£2.50 log
£16 heat mat
£12 themometer
£35 thermostat
£8 20 pinkys
