Hi,
After mounths of careful planning and consideration I've finally been able to start the breeding process.
I've been putting the male and female together every two days, to give them a day a rest in between each (hopefully) successful mate. However, on the third time I tried this, neither of them seemed really interested in one another. Could this be because the male is no longer looking to breed, or is the female simply releasing some kind of "don't shag me, I'm gravid" hormone? I know it sounds like I'm overreacting, but I just thought I would ask.
Also, for the sake of being prepared, I went down to my local clearance warehouse and picked up an Argos shelving unit for a fiver. Gotta love those clearance warehouses.
Basically, what I'm planning on doing is trailing some heat wire down the back of the shelves, which I can then hold in place using duct tape and then controlling this using a reptile thermostat, probably one from the "Habistat" brand. The hatchlings will be kept in cricket boxes or similar. I have already found an outlet, so the hatchlings will only be here for two weeks, three tops.
Does this sound ok? Or is there something important that I've done wrong/missed out?
Thanks in advance,
Azixs.
(I'll post up a pic of the shelving unit as soon as I work out how)
