can i just ask guys, i know alot of you have signatures such as 0.0.1 amel. what are the numbers all about?lol
 
0.1 means 1 female

1.0 means 1 male

0.0.1 means 1 unknown

3.2 means 3 males & 2 females

The numbers just refer to the sex of the animal. So if someone says they have a 0.0.1 Amel, that just means that they have an Amel that hasn't been sexed, or the sex is unknown to them. :D Hope that helps!
 
ahhh! i c lol i guess mine would be a 0.0.1 amel then, although i think its a female from the shape of the tail, although i dont really know what im looking for to well lol thanks
 
No prob. Maybe you could post a few pictures up here of your snake(try to get an underbelly shot of the tail). There are a few folks here that are exceptionally good at sexing a snake by looking at the tail. They can tell with fairly decent accuracy ;).

so underbelly shots give you the best idea of sex? well il try......its a lil difficult to take a picture, iv only had it a few weeks and its still just about getting used to being handled so is still pretty lively when i hold lol. il give it a try tho
 
Its helpful if you could get a second person to take the picture...or hold the snake :) I always find it difficult to hold the snake with one hand and take the picture with the other. Make sure to take a picture of the TAIL section...lol, its not that easy to guess the sex by looking at any other part of the belly. But I can say that I have about a 50% chance of guessing it right if you show me a head shot :p
