Hey guys, my corn is getting to the point where he will be off fuzzies soon, and I have a food size question. About how long would an average corn snake be on hoppers?

I've been buying 10 mice at a time from my friend's reptile store because I didn't really want to buy in bulk for a single snake, as I would probably have extra. I was wondering about how many hopper feedings a corn goes through before needing to move up to weanlings? Could I safely buy a package of 25 or 50 from The Mouse Factory and not have a ton left over? I know this is an odd question but I'd appreciate an opinion at least, thanks.
 
depends on the snake, I only have two corns but they are wildly different in growth rate. If he 'outgrows' hoppers by a lot, you can just feed him two until you run out. If he 'outgrows' hoppers by a little, just keep feeding him hoppers until you run out - if his prey is a little tiny for a few feedings it won't harm him.

Or you know, get another snake : )
 
I wouldn't buy 50. They go through the next two stages pretty fast, in my experience. I want to say ten or less. I'll check when I get home. Some places have mice that vary widely, so you get a range of sizes in the bag, but Mouse Factory is pretty uniform, and they have nice plump mice for the size.
 
I just checked the records for my '07...he ate 12 fuzzies and then 14 hoppers before moving up to weaned. One of my '08s has had 9 fuzzies but I'm not ready to bump him up yet. Hope that helps!
