No cool side?

It has been really hot where I live recently making it impossible for me to keep half of my tank cold at all times. The lowest i can keep it is about 77 degrees F. It gets cooler at night, sometimes even around 65, but during the day it just stays up around that 77 degrees points on each side of the tank. I read that snakes use the temperature to control their body heat so I was wondering if I should be worried. I could try to move the tank to a darker place if it is necessary. Thank you.

77 degrees will be OK.
Also have you thought of moving the Viv to different room or lowering it??
This could help? :shrugs:

Good Luck

I was thinking about that. Right now it is on my dresser on the second floor of my house. The only problem is that is probably the only place I can keep it. Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to find another place for it.

Let me say again, 77 is fine. but you could move the Viv away from windows if that the case or lower it.

Good Luck

If it is staying at 77 degrees on both sides of the tank I would think you would need to warm up one side just a little bit instead of worrying about cooling it. If you warm it I would use an undertank heater with a dimmer switch. To cool it you can do the previous suggestions or you could try a fan or a cool cloth laid over half the tank. It doesnt have to be a really wet cloth (because that might het your humidity up too high). Just take a cloth, wet it and ring it out thoroughly, then place it in the freezer for an hour. After that you can put it on top of the viv. It should not be frozen in an hour and should help cool off one side of the tank.
