Ive read and been told not to put a water dish in a rosy boas tank/cage ? How do you give them a drink ?

I have read conflicting reports, some say don't place water in their enclosure after they eat because Rosys have a tendency to drink too much water after they eat which could cause regurge, some say keep water in the enclosure all the time.

This is what I do and other may disagree but that's ok, it works for me, I keep water in my Rosy's enclosure all the time except, I take it out the day I feed her and replace her water dish the day after feeding day and I have had no issues with her so far.

I do however place a humid hide in her enclosure when she goes to shed.

Ok thanks mate . How do you accomplish a humid hide ?

(What I was, took a appropriate size Tupperware container for the size of your snake, cut a hole in it, I used a heat source to melt/smooth any sharp edges . I keep damp sphag moss in it and place the lid on it, my snakes go in it on their own when needed.

Kl thank you mate can you do the same with corn snakes ?

I do it for all my snakes and I have always had perfect shed except for once (Rosy Boa) It came off in one piece but she had seemed to have a tough time getting it all off.

No need to be sorry, its why we have forums right? To help! And I had all the same questions when I started out.

I initially put room temp water in it, I also tend to place it in the middle to warm side of the tank , not directly over the heater so the UTH keeps it warm not hot.

Ok mate thanks alot im just started with snakes an im so interested in them now
