Nocturnal?

I once heard that corn snakes are nocturnal. Is this true? And if it isn't, my snake is always in his hide spot during the day. I don't know if he comes out at night, but he is always in a hide spot. I never see him roaming around. Does anyone have any ideas why he is never out in the day?

Technically they're not considered nocturnal, though the difference is very slight, corns are crepuscular critters meaning they go hunting at dusk and dawn.

It's a rare day indeed that we see our snakes out during the day. We usually see them shortly after lights out starting a day or two prior to feeding day. Otherwise they're shy and prefer to stay snuggled cozy in their hides. Not a bad life really. ;)

Cheers,
Jason

Ditto what Jason just said.
Almost all of my corns never come out during the day. I have two that I just got that are out and exploring all the time, but that is certainly not the norm with my snakes. I'm expecting them to settle in to their new environment within the next week or so and probably wont see them until the lights go out or the sun goes down after that!! Your snakes are normal ;)
