Not eating after escape

my 1 year old amel somehow managed to escape from its new tank around 12 days ago now, after 24 hours of freedom i managed to tempt it back by leaving cut up bits of fuzzies around the room. after putting it back into its old tank ( as i know this is secure), i gave it the fuzzy that it was tucking into as i swooped to recapture it =). it ate it fine, as normal. i decided that due to the stress id leave it a little longer than i normally do to feed. so last night i fed it again, 1 whole fuzzy ( its usual meal) and it just to totally ignored it. it has also been very inactive recently, and im started to get concerned as its my first snake, and also its never refused food before in the 8 months that i have been caring for it. any ideas guys?

well it is just starting to go blue, but i have never had problems with feeding whilst in blue before, which made me discount that possibility really.

Well, there it is!
My money's on the shed cycle. Sometimes they will eat in blue, but most often they won't, from my experience. FWIW :wavey:

I'll have to agree and say try again after your snake sheds. I've had some of my snakes be fine eating in the blue and then suddenly they stop and refuse everything until after they've shed. Come to think of it only a few of mine will readily eat while in the shed cycle.

Good luck getting your snake to feed again. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Let the snake have some quiet until after the next shed and then try again.

I was lucky enough to have the opposite happen. My earmarked-keeper-female-butter hatchling was yet to take her first meal and then she escaped...after a week of freedom I let her have a day of quiet time before offering a pink which she made dissapear as quickly as she had a week earlier!
