I'm sure that you've thought about this already, but sometimes it's the obvious, simple ideas that lead to something better/more helpful???
My lil' lav guy -- who has been hovering around 10 g & has been slowly gaining weight since I got him at the end of June (he's now about 13 g...it's been frustrating trying to get him to eat!) -- has had lots of refusals. I found that putting him in his separate feeding container and then covering it with a cloth (to darken it) and then leaving him in a dark, quiet room for at least an hour worked...the first time I did it, I left him with the pinky overnight. I was just so frustrated so I gave him the pinky probably around 11 pm and when I checked on him at 6ish am, it was gone & he was calmly coiled up!
This last time, because he really needed to start taking two pinkies, I gave him his first -- and left him dark & quiet & alone for an hour...when I checked on him, it was gone. So, with fingers crossed, I popped in the second pinky...another hour later, thankfully it was gone, too. I also slit the top of the pinky's head -- that seemed to help. There was even a couple of weeks where -- for some reason -- he liked to take the pinkies that had been injected with NutraBac. I dunno. His brain is too small for me to even contemplate getting inside of it...
I hope that your lil'guy starts eating soon so that you can avoid force feeding...*fingers crossed for you*!
