Not Feeding

Golden

Owns a Corn
Hey again! It's been awhile now...

It's been three years since I got my snake. He shed last week on a Thursday and has been refusing to eat since before the shed and now after. Any suggestions on how to entice him to eat. He struck at the mouse when I attempted to move it. He eats the thawed ones. I'd prefer not to move to the living ones, either.

Not too sure what to do.

Check your temperatures first to make sure it's not too hot or cold, seasons are starting to change.

If that's good then try dropping one in some really hot water and then brain it. Maybe even try scenting it if you can.

I guess I wouldn't get too worried about it. I just had a female adult go on a four month feeding strike for no apparent reason, and only lose four grams in that time! Let him go a week before trying again. You could try slitting the mouse, then, or feeding a smaller than usual prey item.

Alrightie. Thanks for the replies.

The temps have been good, from previous years. Still the same this year, too. I'll double check..

I'll give him a week too. Thank you everyone.
