Hi All...I have a question. :shrugs: My lavender eggs havent hatched yet and its been 68 days..(never had them go over 63 theyre always early.) how much longer should I wait b4 slitting them open?I know they are not extremely late, but I am wondering if there is even anything in these eggs at this point....Anyway, I figure like next week???? Opinions welcome.;; Thanx!!!!

As long as the eggs look good, I would just leave them alone and wait (and I know how hard that can be sometimes). If you are really concerned, you can slit just one egg to take a look...just as long as you are willing to perhaps sacrifice that one hatchling (just a chance you'll lose it by slitting too early).

Mine went 69 days at 80 degrees. They'll hatch when they want to! I don't slit eggs. If they never hatch and they go bad, they weren't meant to be. If all have hatched but one or something, then I'll slit it to see what happened to the baby. The one I had this year, was dead in the egg.

I waited until day 80 (at 82 degrees) before slitting open the lone egg from a second clutch and found nothing but egg goo. I don't think you should do anything yet.
