Ok so I have been feeding my Amel Clyde pikies since i got him, they arent leaving a bulge any more so i went and bought a bag of fuzzies. Today is feeding day and i take one of these things out of the bag and it looks HUGE! It is unthawing right now. i have yet to hold this thing up to Clyde to see if it is about 1.5 times his width. Sorry i dont have weights on Clyde ( i need to buy a scale). The store didnt have any large fuzzies so i hope he will be able to take this let me know what you guys think please.

P.S. I've had clyde since April he was 12 inches long when i got him so i hope that helps estiamting with his age cuz i have no idea.

Well he is trying to eat it. I dangled it in his feeder cage and he immediatly struck at it. He is about halfway thru it, however he is eating it butt 1st. I was really hopping (hoping idk) that he would spit it out and turn it around but i guess not. :(

They do seem much bigger after feeding pinkies but he will be fine. It will take him a little longer. I have an adult that is still a buttmuncher. Sometimes there is just nothing that you can do about it.

Hes been stuck at the head for about 5 min or so now i covered up the feeder bin with a black shirt so he could relax a little cuz i stood up and scared the poor little guy. I felt so bad.

My Okeetee is a very aggressive eater but he always tries to eat from the side. Every time! It's kind of funny, and once when he was getting just a bit to big for fuzzies he managed to eat one that way, folded in half. Entertaining, but also somewhat disturbing how wide they can stretch sometimes. :)

Well he did it! about 45 minutes later he finished. next time he better go head 1st and not scare me so much.

Has he been eating double pinks per feeding or was he just eating one pink per feeding? The next step from single pinks is generally double pinks. It allows them to start digesting more food per feeding, & continue growing to be able to move up to the fuzzies.

If you already did this, disregard my post. LOL ;)

I did do double pinks for a few weeks. However after i fed him last week he was very agressive which is not like him. He attempted biting my toe. He was on the floor in his clear plastic feeder tank and i was sitting in a chair with my feet near the tank and he lunged at the plastic trying to get my toe. So i took that as a hint saying "Hey im still hungry!!!!"

I had a mouse before that was nasty and kept escaping, and one night I got so sick of it I snapped her neck and offered her to Lotem without realizing that the mouse was like 2.5 times bigger than what Lotem should have been getting. Lotem ate the mouse with no problems, and had a good growth spurt after that (and from that I learned her metabolism was faster than my other corn's).

Do NOT under estimate them; they will make you feel stupid. :p

Also, Lotem just constricted that mouse because it was so freshly killed; it was definitely dead.

My hognose likes to fold her mice in half and shove them down her throat sideways. It makes me roll my eyes and chuckle, she's so silly.
