Now I'm REALLY a member of the bite club!

I know, I know, I get way too excited about this kind of stuff. lol Feel free to share your stories about being bitten too!

I was cleaning cages in the morning at work, and decided to wipe down all the glass to make everything look nice. I ignored all of her warning signs (tongue flicking intensely, following my hands every move, ect) thinking "Nah, she won't bite. She's a nice snake."

Famous last words. XD I put my hand in her tank to wipe down the inside of the glass, and BAM! She grabbed my hand and coiled her body around my forearm. Then came the squeeeeze. I promptly said "Ow ow ow ow ow" which was very useful. After a few seconds I lifted up my arm to take it out of the cage and she let go. I rushed to the bathroom and doused it with hydrogen peroxide, it fizzed and fizzed and fizzed lol.

In all honesty, I think she thought she was getting fed. She was recently in solitary confinement getting over a respiratory infection, then mites. (so weird, nothing else in the store had them.) I had been feeding her in her cage as a result, seeing as how we didn't have any extra feeding bins large enough at the time. So she possibly has started associating anything coming into the cage with food. BUT I fed her the day before! So I don't think she was honestly hungry, just being opportunistic, the little piggy. I still love her though. <3

interesting story like the rest. I havent been bit, but I find it interesting that everybodies corns are so freindly and yet will bite on occasion. I am super carefull with my yearling. She has given me the warning signs a few times but no bite yet. I think she hates my hand coming into her cage, but once i got her out on my chair she seems happy. I suppose it is only a matter of time before i get it, even though she is super docile I think I tend to piss her off once in a while with my inexperiance.

Haven't been bitten by my cornsnakes (plenty of threats though - and my few month old blizzard struck at me once, LOL), but I HAVE been bitten by a 9 foot red tail boa...does that count for the bite club? LOL. And he has always been laid back (its the other boa that often threatens, but never strikes), and had eaten the day before too...I think I accidentally surprised him, even though he had plenty of warning that I was approaching...

Funny that both our snakes bit us the day after being fed...obviously not REALLY hungry, but both opportunistic (I did offer him more food just in case and he coiled and constricted around it like he never does (F/T) - goofy snake)

Pictures eh? I'll have to dig around to see if I have any pictures...it was like, 6 years ago, LOL

I have not been bitten but I have came close. Once was the first week I had my little 7 gram baby she was behind her watter bowl( I did not know at the time) I moved it scared her and she struck she hit my hand faster that I dont know what. I dont think she had her mouth open if she did I did not feel anything other than a tap. then shes done one or 2 other this that might have been a strike im not sure if I just moved my hand to fast and her head jerked or what. The worst one( I was being kind of mean :( ) she had just ate and she has a clear feeding tank I was shakeing my finger and she hit the tank....HARD

Never been bitten, but my boyfriends Okeetee is always warning me.

I'm just waiting for it to happen, my Amel is a sweetie though.

I fed my 2 new baby 'babies' last night. Cassandra was sweet, but little mr no name officially earned the name of "BIG CAT". That little tail vibrating, hissing, striking, "Quart-o-Blood" drunken monkey-on-acid technique, snakelet bit me!

But they both ate in only a few minutes...that's good!
