Had a regurg the other day and some members recomended this product. How do people rate this as after doing some research there seems to be differing opinions. Your views would be great.

IMO if you know what caused the regurge and it's the only one you know of, you don't need Nutri Bac yet. Just follow regurge protocol.

I got it for my two corns when both regurged twice. My fuzzies had gone bad. After feeding them both pinkies for something like 8 feedings that had Nutri Bac, they were doing great.
The reason I got it was because two regurges is an alarm. One is bad, more is horrible.

Another reason for having Nutri Bac is if you have to give your snake an anti-biotic. Those tend to kill all bacteria, including what's in the snake's gut for digestion.

One thing about nutribac is that after a regurge, even a single it will help the snake recover the useful bacteria it needs to digest that it lost in the regurge.

I use it with snakes that have regurged for whatever reason, for six months to a year.

I had a male yearling that regurged twice, finally got him to stop. The female regurged 3 or 4 times about a month after the male. I got the nutri bac and she hasn't regurged yet *knock on wood*

Me too. Before I had NutriBac one of mine regurged due to a temperature spike. I followed regurge protocol, but he did it a second time. He kept down the next feeding, then regurged again. I was getting seriously worried about him by this time. I got some NutriBac from Kathy Love, and I really believe that the product saved this snake's life. I kept him on it every feeding for six months, and every other feeding for the next several months. He didn't have a regurge since being put on NutriBac, and that's been 2 1/2 years ago.

It should be in every snake owner's medicine cabinet.

I second the motion! Besides regurge issues, it's part of my standard protocol when getting a new animal. Shipping is stressful, so the first feeding here always includes NutriBac.

Thanks for the useful advice guys/gals, i have ordered some and it should be arriving later on today, from what you have said it seems a good product. I know its best kept in the fridge but what shelf life does Nutribac have. Also how many members put Nutribac in the snakes water as a method of administering the product between feeds.

I'm honestly not sure about the shelf life on NutriBac specifically. I've assumed a year, as most probiotics are good for that if stored correctly, but someone may have more solid information.

I have put it into the water between feedings for some animals, especially during the initial regurge protocol. I didn't use much; only an old-fashioned "pinch." If you do this, just be sure to wash the water dish & provide fresh water each day (as per the product's info that comes with it).

i take it the Nutribac container does not have a use before date on it then.

I have been using it for Mango, who had a history of regurges prior to me picking her up at the reptile rescue. So far, so good; she's been with me two months. I am also using it for Firefly for a little while because it looks like she might not be properly digesting the mouse hair. I dust the mouse butt with the Nutribac. My only observation is that it makes the mouse butt pretty sticky. It sticks to the forceps I use to put the mouse in the cage. Has anyone else noticed this?

Looks like it is doing the trick for your snake then, will you continue to use it in the future or try and wean you snake off it?.

Hey, Habistatman. I am planning to wean both of them off of it. I'm thinking I'll keep Mango on it for a couple more months and then wean her off. Since Firefly only has intermittent "weird" poop, I'll probably give it to her occasionally.
