wow always my luck with animals, i swear they do these things on purpose. but anywho...

I fed October this past Sunday as his normal feeding day and since then I noticed that he didn't come out of his warm hide much. So a few days later (Wednesday) I got back from work and rearranged his hide, thinking that he might not be able to to get to the heat ( something was blocking a good portion of the UTH) and after wards I looked into his other hide and saw that he was white with pink eyes! So my first reaction was OMGOSH is he dying????, but then I remembered that since I 've owned him within the past month he hasn't shed. The problem is that I had to leave for Georgia on Thursday night so I'm not able to monitor him as much as I should. So I did what I could which was put a clear deli cup in his tank upside down with a wet paper towel in it and placed it upside down. I cut a howl in the bottom so its kinda like the coconut hides. I asked my mom to mist his hide once at night and again in the morning so the air + substrate gauges will equal around 60% until I return. He also has a clean water bowl that should fit him in his tank.

Will my efforts be enough? I return from my vacation Sunday at 1

I say that his eyes were pink cause he's an Opal

Sounds like you've got it covered. I'm sure the snake will be fine. They do it all the time in the wild. ;)

I am sure your snake will be fine. It sounds like you are taking good care him. Remember once they go blue it can still be a little while before they shed.

so i have GREAT news!!! October shed sometime this morning ( cause my mom checked on him before she picked me up from the airport) and he had his first shed ( since i've had him)!!! :dancer:

Everything is in one piece but since he is coiled up in his hide i wasn't able to check the tip of his tail. I would normally feed him today, but since he shed i'm not sure how long i should wait... any suggestions on when I should do so and when I can handle him again???

Many thanks

He's shed.....WOO HOO! Make sure you check around his eyes and tail for any left over skin!!

You can feed your little guy today.....he's probably pretty hungry after all his hard work!

Congrats!
