odd behavior

I have a young corn currently feeding on fuzzies. Anyway it has always been a little uptight and pretty squirmy when handled, but after a few mins in the hands it would calm down fine and act like a lovely little corn. However today i was cleaning the tank and transfering it to a holding tank. When i was done cleaning i went to put him back in and it like secreated something odd smelling on me. Once it was in the tank it was shakeing its tail and strikeing. I cant figure out why since it has never done anything like this in the past.

Well something has definately upset him. I have a milk snake that often musks on me however it is a lot more uncommon for corn snakes to do it. Has anything changed in its surroundings? Or prehaps have you changed in some way prehaps smell wise :grin01: . Its usually a sign of stress but they usually grow out of it.

a few other notes i forgot:

ever since a week or 2 ago he has been burrowed under the substrait and i never see him. Normally he under his hide at night and active during the day. But lately hes been burrowed and i have not been see him.

Also, his eyes were milky one or 2 days ago and today there clear, im guessing hes going to shed? Could this have anything to do with his odd behavior?

hmm there havent been any changes that i can think of at all.

just reading your post it could prehaps be that hes feeling a little stressed because hes shedding and your moving him around etc but it isn't much to worry about.

You just got musked. :grin01: It's very likely because he's in shed and feeling vulnerable, along with all the moving and the change of surroundings. Just let him calm down a bit, he should be ok. :)

Well it just had a bad shed in many pieces and theres some small pieces stuck to it. I dont understand all thats going on, it normally sheds perfect. Now all asudden its agressive and not shedding well!?
