Cornsnake Crazy
I bred a stripe to a stripe this year and they are pipping today. The first one is out today after starting yesterday...My question does a normal stripe hatchling look like the attached picture????Or are my stripes hiding something? Here are pics of Dad and Mom, Apollo and Athena and their first baby...

Looks pretty normal to me, nearly a perfect stripe too. The oranges and yellows come in later on.

Ahha

No wonder I was confused. Thanks DaemoNox! I appreciate the help. I have never seen hatchling stripes so I wasn't sure what they were supposed to look like. Thanks again.

Okay all 9 eggs have hatched

and out of the clutch I got 7 that look like the first picture and 2 that look like the second picture....so are the pictures just 'normal' stripes or could there be something else???? :shrugs: (Sorry for the poor picture quality...the camera I have doesn't have auto focus.)

The ones like in the first are normal stripes, and the ones in the second are amel stripes; meaning both of yours are het amel.

Daemonox you rock!

Thanks again for the input. That is what I was thinking I had, but wanted to double check with others who could tell for sure. Hard to know what everone is het. for when the seller I got them from said they were ____ X ____. Ya know. Thanks again.

I'm curious about the snake laying in aspen. Do you not offer them a laying box?

I do give all of my females

laying boxes with spaghnum (sp?) moss, however when I unpacked this pair they wer put into the wrong shoeboxes...so my 'Male' Stripe was laying eggs in aspen and my 'Female' was shedding happily in moist moss.... Just goes to show, don't let the kids help when putting new snakes away.... :crazy02:
