Ok to handle more than once a day?

Sorry forgot to add that. He is close to a year and I have had him for about 5 months. I was asking because friends will come over and ask if I can bring him out after I have already had him out that day.

Tell them somrthing similar to what i say, which is :- 1 or other ofmine will be out between 7-8pm, depending on if any of them have just fed or not. This also gets you into a dailly routine of handleing at the same time.

Mine come out whenever but I'm pretty strict about no handling after feeding even when my friends insist they'll be gentle.

Sometimes I'll have a particular individual out 3-4 times or even for a few hours...I'm not nearly organised enough to keep to a schedule!!

To tell you the truth I do not really follow a schedual either because I am not that organized, I just let them out whenever they feel like it. However I am strict about friends holding them period becuase last time I let a friend handle one he dropped it! :twoguns:

I dont have to worry because none of my freinds want to hold snakes. Which is a shame, I'd like to have soem friends I can talk to about snakes, and such, I tell my one freind somethign I learned the other day about whatever kinds of snakes, May it be Gaboons or Boam Slong, whatever, he just gets pissed and sais he doesnt' care, because I constantly tell him about them, so I guess that is why I have you guys. :)

A snake loving friend dropped my first snake when I'd only had her a week or so (so I was still super-precious with her) and I freaked out. A 10 gram littlie dropping over a meter has gotta hurt...thank goodness she landed well...I was sooo worried though!

I'm usually good with schedules and like keping records of my snakes (even how often their handled, don't say it i know i'm sad).

darkpbstar you can email anytime, day or night if you want to talk snakes, any type, as i am willing to learn more about differant species (other reptiles as well, but i don't know that much about them)lol. I garentee an ansaw witin 24 hours at the longest.

My co-workers are fascinated by my having snakes. They ask me about them all the time. I've had three of them bring their kids to our house to "play" with the snakes. It's a great educational tool. I'm pretty strict on handling rules, handwashing before and after, and the babies don't come out. We have a few ambassador snakes (1 corn, 1 king, a hognose and a rosy boa) that are very mellow and anyone can hold them.

I find that when I tell people I have snakes I get one of two responses....

Interested and excited, "Really? What kind?"
OR
Recoiling, shuddering, "Why would you want snakes?"

My baffled answer to #2, "Who wouldn't want snakes? They're the perfect pet."

And my favourite Q&A:

Q: "Are they venomous?"
A: "Only idiots and experts keep venomous snakes, and I'm not either one."

i too dont keep to a schedule, im all over the place for that. lol
as all mine are adults now, i have no youngens, so i dont need to worry about them striking me whenever i handle them. i get them out as much as i can, as im a busy busy gal, it is hard sometimes though, the longest they have gone without being handled properly is about a week and half. but they are all good as gold, have never been biten or hissed at by any of them throughout their lives.
:D

I'll have to remember this
Q: "Are they venomous?"

I get the same sort of response from people over here in the UK.
