Older girl stopped eating!

My girl, Kiona has NEVER just out of the blue quit eating up until two months ago. I ordered medium sized rats for her because she was on small rats and was chucking them down like whoa and the medium rats I got from a local pet store were only a very bit bigger than the smalls, but the medium rats I ended up getting online are HUGE, I'd call them large rats, but eh. Anyway, I've been away from home for three months and my mother's been feeding her and giving her water and cleaning out her cage and whatnot. The first two months she took the rat like a champ. She waited quite a while for the second one (she ate two in two months, and I wasn't surprised because... yeah, it takes longer to digest.)

The last one she ate was two months ago. She has NEVER before refused food. Thank GOD I go back Tuesday. I'm going to stop at the local shop on the way back and get mice (my mother was unable to). If she refuses it again, any suggestions?

I know I can try braining it, or just cut the head off or something to get it to bleed a little, but any other suggestions would be AWESOME!

If she doesn't eat in two weeks, she'll go to the vet. She's never had mites/bugs of any kind before that I know of. :shrugs:

Considering the season, it wouldn't surprise me if she has eggs (they would be infertile slugs is not bred). Females can produce a clutch even if they have no contact with another snake and many females will go ogg food when they get close to laying. Give her a nest box, just in case.

Also as an older full size female eating large/medium rats 2 months off food isn't a huge deal she can probably go another month or more.

Hey Cap'n, if you feed these rats freshly killed and not FT then I can give some advice. I have an old lady corn who will not eat unless I pre-kill the prey item, " and I mean kill as in stone dead, the prey item must not even twitch".
If I don't do this she will not eat, I found this out by accident when she did'nt eat for about 3 months and I chucked in a dead rat that one of my other corns had constricted and not eaten. She devoured it, try pre-killing a live rat and then just leave it in her feed box, she may just surprise you.

Ciao
