One little calico baby

My het calico female laid a small clutch of what appeared to be slugs. For giggles, I put them in the incubator anyway. Most went bad right away, but I saw thin veining in a few. When I checked yesterday, I saw this one little hatchling. I slit the other remaining ones, and found one deformed calico, and two deformed hets, all dead of course. :(

Anyway, I'm still excited that one made it. As far as I know, very few people are working with the calico black rat morph.

Thanks for looking!

Kathy

Did you take pics of the deformed calico? I would be interested to see the little one...

Thanks, Janine! I think I have a name for her - 'Survivor'! I hadn't really thought about what to call her. :)

Outcast, these are stunning in person, but I'm a bit biased! I have other blackrat morphs, but these are by far my favorites.

Airen, I didn't have time, but I did put the remains in the fridge for now. I wanted to examine them more closely when I have some time. I will take some photos over the weekend.

Thanks all,

Kathy
