Only one baby, but she is perfect.

A few weeks ago there was a malfunction with my incubator and I lost over 50 eggs.

I held back a few that still showed some veins and did not smell like death. One male hatched a few days ago, but there seems to be something wrong with him, and some of the others were clearly DIE.

But, while I was celebrating my birthday at the Myrtle Beach reptile expo this weekend, one of remaining eggs hatched and I was surprised by the outcome.

She is from an old school bloodred with pos hets to an old school bloodred het anery stripe amel hypo.

She actually had three bands of anery that seem to go all the way around her body! It was insanely hard to take a picture with my cell phone one handed, so I'll do a proper photoshoot with a good camera this weekend.

So... here's my little paradox girl.

With and without flash.

I was trying to do this one handed with a cell phone, so I can't wait to post nice pictures after she sheds. The bands fully circle her body.

Ooh. Can't wait to see a full photoshoot either.

Do you think the paradoxing came from the heat spike?

The only known heat spike was very late in development, I'd wager that the color layout was already set by then. The spike happened about 13 or so days before she hatched. All of the eggs were pulled and set at room temp as soon as the spike was discovered.

So sorry for your losses :( That is a major bummer...but congrats on this little gem!! I can't wait to see more photos of her :)

First I would like to say I would like to extend my condolences on the losses you suffered. With that said... if one had to hatch, I am happy that you got something as amazing and hard to get as a paradox.

I am sure you went through an emotional roller coster ride with the most epic fall and rise ever. Congratulations on the amazing baby

Yeah, I took a direct hit to face from Murphy, but at least my one little survivor is awesome.

She shed last night so I'm wondering if she was roaming around in the egg container for a few days longer than I thought? She also ate a f/t pinkie last night on the first try.

I've named her Hexa and she will get a proper photo shoot this weekend.
