Opal-Motley Project

Gregg

Ancient Elder
Pardon the photograph, I didn't realize that I had the lens on telephoto and the focus on macro--that's what one gets when one doesn't check everything again.

Below is a photograph of what I intend to keep out of my Opal-Motley project. I also got a few amelanistics, a few lavenders, and the rest normals.

All were hatched here on 10 July, out of Kathy Love stock, i.e., Normal, Het. amel/lav/motley.

2--amelanistic motleys, het, lavender
1--opal, het. motley
1--lavender-stripe/motley

I'll try to take some better pictures later.

Nice projects~

Especially with the lavender motley poping out~

Plus the opal het motley~~!!

Congrats Gregg! Glad to hear your critters are producing well for you!

Wow! That lavmot is totally sick! ;)

Don't forget, if they came from triple-het parents, they're each 66% het for the third trait. Still, good shot at getting a pair of hets. :D

Thank You Carol, Serp, Simon.

The Gods smiled on me this year--I could have gotten mostly normals. Nineteen eggs. I got the four that you see, four lavenders, two amelanistics, and five normals. The rest of the eggs were hard-boiled before hatch date. Not shabby. Next year will be better, since this was their first year.

Yes, Carol, all my critters did well for me this year. I had two hundred babies hatch last week. I get a break, of sorts, now, until August, then the four ladies that double clutched will have their eggs ready to hatch.

Serpwidgets: You're absolutely right about the 66%, but, since I'm keeping these and not selling, I'm fantasizing--good for me, bad for sales. I'm assuming by 'sick' (sic) you mean slick? Or some hip-hop term, like 'tight?' Or 'clean?' :shrugs: I don't think the snake looks sick at all, just a newborn.

LOL. It's slang borrowed from people who are as obsessive about their cars/trucks as I am about corns. It's one of those "bad = good" things. :)

Thanks Serp...

I thought so, but had to double check.

"Live Long and Prosper"

By the way, I loved your book. :wavey:

Just reread this and had to check....

You mean amel motley possible het lav, and opal possible het motley, right? They do have a great sporting chance at being het though.
