Our new Stripe - 1st handling

Hello,

We purchased our first snake on Sunday as a 10th birthday gift for our son Joey, who's been anxiously awaiting his new pet.

Today, Joey's birthday, was also our first day being able to handle "Ziggy". During this 5 minute session, the little guy was quite nervous (the snake, not Joey) - it coiled up to strike a couple of times, but at other times seemed curious and relaxed.

Friday is our first visit to the reptile vet - just a checkup to ensure he's doing ok. It appears to me that he's about to start his shedding cycle, as his color has dulled in some areas over the past 24 hours...but what the heck do I know??? I've been a snake owner for all of 3 days now :)

Friday evening will also be our first feeding session.

Thanks again to everyone who has been so helpful on this forum - directly and indirectly.

and another image...

Would you classify this a "Normal Stripe" or "Motley Stripe"?

Now the wait for friday. :eats02: Yum
I think I see the addiction in Joey's eyes. :eek1:
Peace Paul

Congrats Joey

Hey that is great. I love to see a young guy get stoked over his new pet snake. I'm sure you'll get lots of enjoyment from keeping this little critter.

Just remember....keep it simple and you'll enjoy your pet for a long time.

Russ

I agree with camus,

it looks like a motley to me too~~
especially the towards the end of the tail~

but either way congrats on the addition and lovely looking snake you have there~~

your snake is gorgeous! I have a motley, too, and we adore her.

Now can someone clarify this for me - isn't a stripe really a motley anyway?
