Out of Hibrenation now....?

MikeSaw23

Never Enough!
I took out my snakes out of hibrenation on Jan. 13. When do I start to introduce them with each other. How long should I wait? How much should I feed? What signs should I look for? Please Help.

Well you should first slowly warm them back up to their regular temp. Then i would feed them a smaller than usual mouse in a week. Then wait until the next feeding time and then feed them what they are used to. Do this for a few weeks and then the female should shed her skin. This is the sign that she is ready to breed. Then you can breed them. If you get Kathy Loves book Cornsnakes the Comprehensive Owners guide it will tell you how to do it all.

Sorry but I clicked on you link. Haven't you and your father done this before?. I mean your selling corns by that link you posted?? Just odd?

Father used to breed other types of corns. That anery female was given to us and we are trying to sell it. This year was our first for Corn Snakes.

After the Female sheds her skin, how long should I wait till I introduce her with my male? And how ofter should I keep them together? How often should I introduce them with each other?

after she sheds just put them together and let nature run its course. keep an eye on them to make sure that one does not stress the other out. i leave mine together until i know the female is pregnant

You know you spelled "pinscher" wrong in your sig.

I know I said I wouldn't post like this, but this really bothers me. Does it REALLY matter if the person had a typo in their signature or thread? I guess my opinion is NO, as long as I can read the thread without alot of "chat" abbreviations. Heck I am in chat all the time but see alot here, that I have NO IDEA what their talking about. But a typo in a signature I personally don't think is that big of a deal, especially since it doesn't affect the body of the question being asked

I introduce directly after she sheds. I usually watch them for a bit, my males do they're thing quick and after I remove them. I'll give the male a day or two to rest and and off to breeding he goes again. I'd say 3-4 to 4 times is more than enough for the female.

After observing this you will pick it up quickly. I've read several books but I find experience and studying your own animals are the real key to successful breeding. Its findout out what YOUR animals want to do!

Good luck!

I put my female and male together in a seperate tub and as soon as they are finished breeding, I then seperate. I give the male 2-3 days off (per Kathy Love's advice) and then reintroduce. I give the male the same amount of time in between and continue to introduce them (about 4-5 breedings) until the female is no longer willing. I introduce them after post brumation shed.
